Methodology

How Aster evaluates.

Aster does not decide who gets admitted. It turns an interview into organized, traceable evidence — and gives that evidence to the people who do decide.

The Journey

  1. 01

    Institution defines the framework

Your admissions team selects the values and indicators that matter. Aster evaluates against those — nothing else.

  2. 02

    Applicant completes an adaptive interview

A typed interview on a laptop or desktop, with an optional recorded video response. Each follow-up responds to what the applicant actually said.

  3. 03

    Transcript is preserved verbatim

Every response is stored exactly as given, with timestamps. Transcript reliability is checked before any analysis runs.

  4. 04

    Evidence is extracted and linked

Observations are tied to specific transcript passages. If there is no passage, there is no claim.

  5. 05

    Evidence sufficiency is assessed

Each dimension is labeled Strong, Moderate, Limited, or Insufficient evidence. Thin evidence is reported as thin — never as weakness.

  6. 06

    Admissions officers review and decide

Reviewers inspect the evidence, open the transcript at the exact moment, and make every decision themselves.

Evaluation Principles

Evidence, not scores

Aster does not produce psychometric scores. It reports how much interview evidence supports each observation.

Separate evidence from interpretation

What the applicant said is shown apart from what it may suggest, so reviewers can disagree with the interpretation.

No personality inference

Aster does not diagnose personality, analyze faces or appearance, or infer protected characteristics.

Absence is not weakness

If a topic was not explored, the report says so. Underexplored areas are flagged for follow-up, not penalized.
